American Bobtail

Urban legend goes that the American Bobtail was created when a domestic cat was bred with a wild bobcat, but that is a myth. In truth, the shortened tail comes from a genetic mutation thought to be similar to the gene that makes Manx cats tailless. The breed was cultivated in the 1960s and can be all patterns and colors.
