Australian Terrier
Originally called the Rough Coated Terrier, the Australian Terrier was bred as a rat and rodent hunter in Autsralia in the 1820s. This high spirited little dog is smart and trainable, but is expected to have an aggressive streak especially when at work on the farm. They were originally shown in 1906, but are still rare outside Australia, often confused for Yorkies or Cairn Terriers at first glance.
