Bluetick Coonhound
The Bluetick Coonhound is an American breed used for hunting racoons. Although it is the state dog of Tennesseee, the Bluetick originates in Louisana where it was bred from French, English, and American hunting dogs. They were recognized as a unique breed as far back as 1946, although it was included in the American Kennel Club in 2009. In modern day, the Bluetick is still used for hunting but is just as often used as a companion pet.
