Bohemian Shepherd

The Bohemian Shepherd is a herding dog hailing from the indigenous peoples of central Europe. The breed can trace its origin back to the Chods, a people who patrolled the boarders between Bohemia and Bavaria as long ago as mid 1200! While it's not known if the modern Bohemian Shepherd is technically the same breed, artwork from the Chods depicts a similar dog. The modern Bohemian Shepherd was rescued from obscurity after WWII and entered a dedicated breeding program 1984 which brought the breed into the FCI and eventually into the AKC in 2022.
