Burmese
The current form of the Burmese cat can trace its roots to one Burmese ancestor named Wong Mau, who was a female Burmese brought to the United States in 1930. The breed originates on the Thai-Burma border where they were known locally as Thongdaeng or Supphalak which means "copper color." The original version of this cat was dark brown but now can be found in many different colors after modern cultivators strengthened the breed by mixing it with other types of cats.
