Cairn Terrier

A British breed club has dubbed the Cairn terrier as "The Best Little Pal In The World" and fans of the Wizard of Oz would agree! Terry the Cairn Terrier played Toto in the 1939 movie. To keep it in the Garland family, Liza Minnelli famously owned a Cairn named Lily. Cairn Terriers were bred to be ratters in highland Scotland where property was marked by piles of stones called a "cairn." The tiny little dogs were dig into the cairn to get at the rats, which is where they found their name as well!
