The Chesapeake Bay Retriever is a bright, energetic, willing pet companion with a thick, wooly coat perfectly suited for the American northeast where it originated. The Chessie was bred as a gundog to retrieve waterfowl, pull in fishing nets, and even rescue fishermen! On top of that they're a wonderful family dog very similar to their cousins, the Labroador Retrievers.
