Chihauhuas hail from Chihuahua Mexico. They are small and feisty, but are also descended from the oldest dogs in North America! A 2020 genome sequencing project tracked ancient pre-European-contact dog DNA through modern breeds and found it in Chihuahuas! Nowadays Chihuahuas come in long haired and short haired varieties and many different colors.
