Chinese Crested Dog

The Chinese Crested dog is a hairless dog that is only born hairless a third of the time! The coated variety is called "Powderpuff," the hairless variety is called "Hairless," and the kind with some hair is called the "Hairy-Hairless!" Despite the name, it's unlikely the Chinese Crested Dog originated in China. It is more likely their origin - or at least the origin of their hairless gene - came from Mexico or Africa.
