Domestic Shorthair

The domestic cat or house cat, "felis catus," is the only truly domesticated cat species currently on earth. They were domesticated in 7500 BC, and have lived alongside humans as mousers, companions, and friends ever since. While they are social creatures, they are solitary hunters known for their lithe flexible bodies and retractable claws. Cats are very intelligent creatures, with cognition comparable to a young human child. They are proficient in problem solving, learn by observation and adapt to any scenario, which is one reason why they have endured so wonderfully for thousands of years.
