European Shorthair

The European Shorthair (or just European) originated in Sweden. It became a unique breed in 1949 after confusion with the British Shorthair necessitated differentiation. The European Shorthair is essentially the naturally-occurring domestic cat of Europe and is closely related to other short-haired cat varieties.
