The Flat Coat Retriever is known as the Peter Pan of the Sporting Group for their boundless energy and eternal youth. They were very popular as gun dogs and games-keeper's dogs until World War II but were saved with careful breeding. Nowadays, they're popular as gundogs, companion pets, and show dogs.
