Galgo Español

The Galgo Español, aka the Spanish Greyhound, is a racing and hunting dog in the Sighthound family. Sighthounds have long been prized for their athleticism from the nomads of the Middle East, to the Pharaohs of Egypt, to modern day sports betting and loving home companions. The Spanish Greyhound is different from the English Greyhound in lineage, but they share the same long lithe body, wasp-thin waist, and big forward-facing intelligent eyes. They are also the origin of several Spanish turns of phrase! To say something is "in the greyhound blood" is to highlight a trait that someone does extremely well - like running and hunting - and "to give a greyhound a hare and not a rabbit" means to give a job that needs doing to the person best suited to complete it!
