Irish Setter

The Irish Setter is a hunting dog but also a loving and adorable family dog. Over 200 years old, the Irish Setter was originally bred as a bird dog. Their keen sense of smell and lean swift body made them perfect for hunting in the time of nets and falconry. They were one of the first nine breeds inducted into the American Kennel Club when it was founded in 1884. Their lovable personalities lead them to make friends easily, and owners often say they are big kids at heart.
