Italian Greyhound

These little friends were favorites of nobles and royalty throughout European history including King Louis IX of France and Queen Victoria of England, but the ‘Italian’ portion of their name is thanks to the Holy Roman Empire! The breed was first honed 2,000 years ago in Greece and Turkey. They truly are the Greyhound in miniature and hardy coursing and hunting dogs in their own right, although on a much smaller scale. IGs zip and prance but are happiest on your lap.
