Japanese Chin
The Japanese Chin, also known as the Japanese Spaniel, is a long-lived and aristocratic breed. They did not originate in Japan, but were gifts to Japanese royalty from foreign rulers, although there’s argument as to whether it was the rulers of China or Korea who did the original giving. Often called a “feline” dog, these lapdogs were coveted by nobility not just in Japan but all over the world. Feline traits include washing their faces with their paws and an aptitude for climbing up to high places. Japanese Chins are also known to spin! They turn like a top when they are excited, sometimes on two legs!
