Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
The term "tolling" in this dog's name is to mark the particular skill this dog has of not just flushing or pointing, but LURING ducks toward hunters. Tollies are smart, active dogs that are eager to please. Often mistake for Golden Retrievers, they are actually a combination of retrievers, setters, and spaniels cultivated in the 1900s in the town of Little River Harbor in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia and has been the provincial dog of Nova Scotia since 1995.
