The original name of the Shetland Sheepdog was the Shetland Collie because it resembles a smaller Rough Collie, but they actually aren't related so the name was changed. The Sheltie is a small herding dog from Scotland who is a clever all-around worker and loyal family pet. So loyal in fact that they're nicknamed "Shadow" because they haunt their owner's steps so closely.
