Snowshoe Cats, originally called "Silver Laces," are a US breed of cat related to Siamese cats and American Shorthairs. They originated in the 1960s when cat breeder Dorothy Hinds-Daugherty produced a litter of Siamese cats with white booties. They're considered rare because recreating the booties is not easy to do, but they're still very popular among cat appreciators.
